Good morning world!

It’s the 14th today, yesterday was saint Lucia, which means that I’m wallowing in Christmas music and spices. There’s nothing like real Christmas spirit

My mother and sister is coming down to Barcelona on Friday, and I have so much to do before they arrive. I actually woke up at six so that I could sew during two hours today, a long day awaits.

I’ve stopped talking photos, not on purpose of course, its just that the inside of the metro is just so much fun and I doubt that they let me take arty pictures at work, I mean they don’t even let me download flash player so that I can watch most designers websites.

Talking of work, I’ve got paid!!!!!!! 300€/ month. I went straight out and bought me a new black cardigan (the old one had bleach stains), two pairs of back 60 den footless leggings, a 4 shaded (grey) eye shadow and a stunning electric blue tight but elegant dress. This week I’m going to a hairdresser and maybe buy a new pair of glasses.

Now I will return to my new sewing machine (thanks to my dear auntie) and fight with the in total 11 meters of organdie fabric I suddenly got on my hands.

Crazy month!

November passed so fast. I can’t belive the amount of work I’ve done since I last wrote something here.

I’m on sort of on holiday right now, 4 days off and no and almost no homework, I can’t really believe it. These two days I’ve slept more than the two last weeks combined (sadly without exaggerations). My entire body is so relaxed right now that I find I hard to even write on my laptop.  It’s been really crazy, to crazy. Wake up at 6, study, go to class, have lunch at 2 in the metro, home between 8 to 9 30, eat, study until 3 or 4. My life routine for the passed fourth night, fun!

Christmas is upon us, everywhere there’s music, lights, heavy shopping, stress.  I’m listening to Ella Fitzgerald singing Christmas and I’m feeling the spirit. On Tuesday som friends are coming over and we’re going to make Swedish “pepparkakor” (gingerbread cookies) and “lussekatter” so tomorrow I’m of to Ikea to purchase Glögg (sweet and strong wine) and spare cookies and maybe a pre made gingerbread house.

Now I think I’ll take a nap, and later I’ll stroll down to the city to watch the lights and decorations.

Saturday, wait

The heater’s broke, there’s no warm water, my room is a mess and I don’t give a darn, a teacher of mine told me yesterday that I was talented and that I have a clear future in this business. How high is my ego right now?

Had a very easy Friday, went for sushi with Marta (big disappointment, lousy maki, filled with mayonnaise and crabsticks) and then we went home for some tea and a bad movie. I really should be organizing my room right now or doing some homework but I’m finding it difficult not to take the day of. I’m having some friends over for home made tonight so I really should get started.

Made a video from the photos I did for the collection this summer.

Hope that my models are pleased with the result.

Ok I give up, I’m going to start to catalogue my fabric stock, and then I’ll start with the deconstructed dress.

COS

Work work work. Seems that all I do now a days is to work. I don’t mind it though, bit exhausted, but I don’t mind. I’m really learning a lot at Burberry, and I’m taking some really interesting classes this year at school.

Today for example we went on a fieldtrip to the opening of HM’s more luxurious brand COS. A part of me was jumping with joy as we walked in, the clothes are amazing, the decoration beautiful, the background music perfect (amongst others lykke li and Jacqee), it felt like home, got a bit struck by homesickness. Must confess that despite the fact that I love the clothes it upsets me that the collection is so very similar (practically copies) of many Swedish brands, like for example Whyred, Filippa K, Acne, Tiger, Dagmar, Rodebjer, naming a few.

It concerns me that this will be to much of a competition for my favourite store SNÖ here in Barcelona.

Well I’m stepping out for groceries.

Sunday…

…and I’m working. Trying to catch up  on the homework I didn’t manage to get done during the week. Have been a lot of extra hours at work, not that I’m complaining or anything but, it’s a bit hard to sit down by the sawing machine when you leave the house at 7:30 in the morning and doesn’t return until nine o’clock at night. Not really fair to the neighbours either  starting sewing at that late hour or early morning.

Right now I’m creating a seamless playful something that has to convert into various types of garments just by folding and draping. Have been extremely lazy with the camera lately but I promise that I’ll post the garment as soon it’s presented in class

Went to see Taking Woodstock last night, really worth it, I’m still smiling. Made me miss summer though, and going on music festivals.

The sewing machine is calling!

My first week back…

… passed, and I’m not sure if it went fast or slow, so much has happened in this last week. I’ve started school and my internship at Burberry, and I live completely alone for the first time in my life (not that I notice it though, doesn’t spend much time at home).

It’s seven thirty and it’s still dark outside, although it’s 25°C outside, summers really over.

I’m so exited to find out what this year has in store for me, that I don’t mind the sleep deprivation.

Got to go, I’m running late for my theory of dyes and colouring class.

Copenhagen airport 7:15

I’m sitting here, sleepy and exhausted, with my expensive (why must everything in airports be so expensive???) breakfast yogurt pondering on why the calmness of an airport an early Sunday morning is so extremely relaxing. Maybe it is the sun that slowly reveals the open fields, the towers and the plains that spend the night or that the only sound is the roar of the engines as the heavy monsters takes of into the sky, or maybe it is just the delight to see how the airport comes to life.

What a summer! I must say that I’m really happy how it turned out! I made new acquaintances, new friends and I got to know old friends even better. I’ve been to a festival, I’ve worked, I’ve partied, I created, I sold some creations, an amazing photograph used my necklaces in an editorial! No regrets, but some what exhausted.

A bit sad to leave but I’m so excited to return to Barcelona to see what she has in store for me this semster.

There’s people around me now, and there is a man in a neon vest outside, checking the tires. I can see into the cockpit from here, the pilots have arrived. We board in a little while so I’m going to put the computer away now

Last week in Sweden…

… and it’s already Tuesday! Handed in the necklaces at Tjallamalla Malmö yesterday so if you’re interested you can find them there, just ask for a.r.r.p.!

Spoke with Spain just now, about my internship, and they told me that they had been waiting form me and that I start Monday. My hours will be 15 – 19 except Fridays where we have to find a solution cause they don’t work afternoons on Fridays. I’m so nervous, but it’s going to be so much fun and so interesting.

Now I’m going for dinner with my family in Västra hamnen to enjoy some sun (It’s raining in Barcelona)

Hectic weekend

After a quick stop at Barcelona 080 showroom where i got a glimpse at ,amongst others, Georgina Vendrell, Gori de Palma, Joan Fabregas, Krizia Robustella new collections, I stuffed my lovely basket and took of for the airport! (They didn’t let me take pictures)

The Flight went really smooth, we actually landed 20 min early so I got plenty of time to change into my party outfit at the airport before runnig to the house warming party.

Went to a brilliant party last night in the outskirts of Malmö, it was called contra punkt, and the music and the venue was increadible.

I’m now going to take a quick nap before my weekend continues.

Btw, I started making my new catalouge, and tomorrow or tuesday I will go to Tjallamalla with some of the necklaces. Haven’t decided on which though.
